When things don't go your way, you either get bitter or better. What's your choice?
Its time to dance!
I followed the recipe from here, but I did a twist to it and it ended up in my rubbish bin.
I am totally in love with Oven Marvel's chicken pie. I think I did more than a blog post on it. Well, this has become a family affair. My younger son is crazy over Oven Marvel's chicken pie too!
I do not like the example shown in the video. I prefer to have pastry wrapping the filling completely instead of baking it in a dish with just the crust on top. So I followed every step, except for the wrapping of the pastry part.
Allan was smart, he suggested that I should not put everything into my oven on first attempt baking Chicken Pie.
So I put in two.
The top was so crispy! Oooooooohhhhhhh yum!
Just like the one served in Oven Marvel.
But the bottom was hard!
*faint*
Filling was nice!
So the only battle I had was with the pastry.
I bought those ready made pastry dough and on the packaging it said baking heat is 230 degrees Celsius, which is different from the baking heat of 180 degrees Celsius suggested in the video.
Alright, since my first attempt baking Chicken Pie failed, I warmed the oven to 230 degrees Celsius and put in my second batch. This time, feeling more confident, I put in 3 pieces.
Bam!
The colour was WEIRD!
It was pokka-dotted golden brown!
*faint*
The crust was so hard!
Top and Bottom!
The pastry was so tough, we had difficulty cutting through it with a butter knife!
Man!
This is definitely more difficult than I thought!
Yeah!
This week is eBay week!
May every week be eBay week! *clap clap clap*
Yesterday a customer came to my place and cleared many of those metal hooks used in Pushcarts, bazaar or retail shops. A very nice young couple. First venture for them. Definitely bring back memories of how young Allan and I were when we became our own boss too. *smile*
I was so happy when they bought these:
Being in the retail line for so many years, I dare say that I have seen almost all sorts of customers. But for online retailing, I am still a 4 year old toddler. Still learning and some are 'near-death' lessons, like what happened to my Nigeria 'customer' last week.
5 days before the above incident, I received an sms from an annoymous.
The person wanted to buy earring hooks from me.
Yet, every other day this person changes the order.
(I am reading her messages as I type this down.)
From 3 packs of Rodium Earring Hooks
to
5 packs of Rodium Earring Hooks and 1 packet of Copper Earring Hooks

I am so looking forward to watch Smurfs the movie this year! Smurfs the movie will be in cinemas islandwide on 25th August 2011. Just showed my boys a short video of what it was like when I was a little girl, watching the Smurfs cartoon on my small TV screen and they loved it. *smile*
After the first attempt on the Easy Cheesecake last month, I was not completely satisfied with the result and so I made some changes.
One major change was the reduction of the quantity of the Strawberry Jam on the Strawberry Swirl Cheese Cake and it was a wrong move.
Received the same comment from all my tasters: "I prefer the previous Strawberry Swirl Cheese Cake."
Thank you Mr Brown once again for bringing out the ugly truth with a little spicy humor in it.
The talented drawing artists from Korean
I love art and am always in admiration of such talents. Yet, over the years, no one has taken over my admiration for this young lady and her talented drawings:
Look at her concentration.
Look at her body language.
She is not just creating a masterpiece with sand, she is telling a heart-moving story without saying a word...
If you don't recognise this as a talent, I do not know what else is.
There I was, thinking that I have yet another sale...another Kaching moment... only to realised that its a Scam!
How foolish of me! *Slap Slap Slap*
*SCREAM*
Everything started on Friday.
My boys had watched CARS for more than 400 times in a period of two years!
Yes they are definitely crazy over that show.
Now that CARS 2 is coming to Singapore on 25th August, we are not going to miss it for anything!
*Grin*
Using hand cream for dry skin ~ I have never expected this day would come.
I have oily skin. I would not say that my palms are oily nor could they be labeled as 'sweaty palms', but it is definitely far from the category of 'dry skin'.
I have no idea if this hand cream is good for my dry skin or not, I just went with my six sense that it would do miracle to my peeling palms. Thanks to the customer who came to my place to 'ransack' my 7 years of retail stuff today. Because she cleared some categories of my items, I am able to have empty slots to post new items.
Little did I know that the sales response towards my eBay listing is in direct relation to how many postings I can have in my eBay listing.
There was a few months which I had zero sales and eBay sent me a 'warning' saying that I had to reduce my postings to less than 100, or else they would remove any random postings so as to keep it within that 'allowable' limit. And as the sales of each month differs, the number of my eBay postings changes too.
I love them at First Sight when I saw them performing in American Idol in the early part of this year.
Their voices are AMAZING!
Never did I expect them to appear in Singapore's President Star Charity Show!
My favourite has to be the one with glasses, he is soooooo cute!
If I am not mistaken, I believe it was Red House Seafood Restaurant, which was featured in one of the Amazing Race finals episode, right? Correct me if I am wrong.
Recently, Allan helped one of our 8years long time friend, whom we clicked at first sight *giggle* when we were doing our retail business in the past, sell their house.
We are so close, our children knows each other too, even though we stay at different ends of Singapore.
To thank Allan for helping them to achieve above their asked price, the family gave mine a treat at Red House Seafood Restaurant.
My friend emailed me these words and once again I am reminded to be grateful for everything that surrounds me and be thankful for the fact that I am still ALIVE. Thank you for the reminder, cos human forgets.
May these words give you enlightenment Today and everyday...
