During one of our exploration, we chanced upon this 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh shop.
They were newly open when we first discovered it last month; and since then, we had been going there all the time! *thumbs up*
It is NOT easy for my picky-eater (elder son, KK) to like something that is NOT in the western food category, but he loves this!
I was pleasantly surprised because the 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh that is sold here is unlike the ones we have in Singapore.
"I am very hungry!!!" grumbled KK |
We had been going JB during weekdays, afternoon, when my younger son is in school. so today is our fifth visit but my younger son's first visit. Sad to say, he does not like it.
Hhhmmm.... guess we would only visit this place again after school reopens, when he is not with us.
Other than the taste of the soup is different from Singapore, the 'meat' in the 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh are different too. For photo shoot purpose, I took one piece of each type out:
At the end of each fulfilling 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh meal, we would order the shop's recommended drink, 爱玉冰。It tastes very much like Lime Juice (maybe it is, I didn't ask) but it has yummy wobbly JELLY on top of the liquid (and ice), which makes it more like a dessert to me and an extremely thirst quenching choice! *thumbs up*
It is located OPPOSITE of the entrance into the multi-storey carpark of THE STORE at Taman Sentosa.
Our bill in RM:
Based on our exchange rate of 2.44, this worked out to be SGD$20.45.
1 big pot of 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh, 2 bowls of you-tiao, 4 bowls of rice, 1 can drink and 2 cups of 爱玉冰.
Warning: if you like spicy, peppery type of 肉骨茶 Bak Kut Teh, then this is NOT for you. *wink*
