Singapore's First Case of H1N1

Yes, it has arrived.
Bright and early on 26th May 6.30am. The carrier was a young woman who came back from New York.

She passed the thermal scanner easily as no fever was detected when she landed in Singapore.
But later in the morning, all thanks to her vigilance in monitoring her own health, she sought medical help the MOMENT she felt unwell.

Now she is being treated in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The officials are trying to contact everyone who could have been in close contact with her. They will be quarantined.

Wow. Good on her for seeking help and crossing fingers.

Do you know, we've had over 800 cases in Canada and only one death? That one death is so very sad, yes, but I just wanted to let you know, don't be alarmed.

As Erin said, it's MUCH milder than they expected. We even had a case in my daughter's school (not her class, however) and the government was not even recommending closing the school; they just disinfected everything and so far no one else has it. So don't worry.:-)
