A Song which doesn't really flow (in my opinion), yet it sings out the hearts of ALL Singaporeans.
A song which every Singaporean can relate to
and
Maybe a song which my non-Singaporeans readers would enjoy too...

T. Harv Eker

He was the man who changed my hubby's life 1 year ago.
He was the man who changed my money management 3 years ago.
He was the man I was supposed to meet back in June 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, had it not been H1N1. *sigh*

Now, He is the man I'm going to meet FINALLY
Still, this sentence had to end with a sigh....
'cos it clashes with my boys' performance.
So I will only be there on the 1st and the last day... *Deep Sigh*

Would I have chosen differently?
No.
My elder boy's graduation ceremony is more important.
But I MAY consider to attend the seminar after the performance ends at 4.30pm.
We'll see how it goes...

Ok, as you can see from my sidebar, my friend is giving away FREE tickets for this Seminar, so if you would like your simple mind to change to that of a Millionaire's mind, go contact him and who knows, we might just bump into each other among the 5000+ attendees!!!

The Search Is Over - Survivor

How can I convince you what you see is real
Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel
I was always reachin', you were just a girl I knew
I took for granted the friend I have in you

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while

Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while

Now the miles stretch out behind me
Loves that I have lost
Broken hearts lie victims of the game
Then good luck it finally struck
Like lightning from the blue
Every highway leading me back to you

Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done
The search has come full circle
Our destinies are one
So if you ever loved me
Show me that you give a damn
You'll know for certain
The man I really am

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Then I touched your hand, I could hear you whisper
The search is over, love was right before my eyes

One lead to Freedom, the other lead to Hell.
There are 2 warrens, each guarding one door.
One will always tell the truth, the other will always lie.

"Like Mother Like Daughter"

Nope, I'm not referring to my nieces...
And
Nope, my boys did not slit off their little elephant trunks...

Many of you know that I have permed my hair a month ago.
My 'Daughter' permed hers too!

I'm talking about my plant. *giggle*

This daughter of mine has been abused and tortured unintentionally by her mother in the past. Oh you can't blame her you know, she only had experienced with boys! *laugh*

Anyhow, this mother has learned to love and take great care of her over this one year....
but now this daughter is 'throwing tantrums' with 'twisted signs'....

Mommy has got to go find out what's the cause of this new 'misbehaviour' again... hmmmmm...

Now how many of you agree that daughters are harder to manage?! Raised hands? Anyone? Ok, guess I'm the only one....

I FOUND MY WEDDING RING!!!!!

Yesterday night, because of something else, I wrote
"With Faith, Miracles Follow...."
on my Facebook Status.

And this morning
I FOUND MY WEDDING RING!!!!!!

OMG!

It was in my clothing drawer.
It probably dropped when I was keeping or pulling out a shirt or something.
Today
I decided to wear a top which I haven't worn for a really long time
and Ta-Daa.... It dropped OUT from one of the shirts and
"tap-tapped" onto the wooden board.

OMG!

I gripped it in my hand
Ran out
"Dearie!!!! I found My Ring!!!!"
Hugged him so tight.
I cried so hard!
Tears of Joy!
I couldn't stop crying with my arms still wrapped around him....

......till he said "Ok, ok.... I have to help Binbin wear his shirt or he will catch a cold."
(my boy just came out from the bathroom)
.....before I was willing to let him go....

I think I have to change my status to
"With Faith, Money Comes!!!!"
*laugh*

Coco Lee has always been my favourite. Hmmm.... come to think of it, she is the ONLY Chinese artist who makes me feel that her concert is worth my time. And the memory of her concert is still fresh in my memory even though its more than 9 years ago. Of cos, she is famous for all her fast songs and her dance moves. But to me, she is complete. Master of all kinds of songs. Love Her.

Ok, some people may hate this, some may love it.
I belong to the second group.
I love quizzes!!!!
IQ, EQ and Whatever Q you have.... I just love to get my brain teased.

So every now and then, I may be popping out a question or two but no answers will be revealed till.... *wicked snicker*

Ok,
here goes the first of my favourite quizzes:

3 boxes of candies, all with same wrappings, same color.
Each box is labeled: Sweet, Sour, Mixed.
But All were labeled wrongly.
You are only allowed to take MAXIMUM 3 candies out to taste.
(NOT 3 candies per box, ok? If so, what kind of challenge is that? *faint*)
So how do you identify which box holds which type of candy ?

If Only....

So often I have heard others say 'If Only' .... (I have said them before too)

If Only I could turn back the clock
If Only I was given the chance to choose again
If Only I was older
If Only I was younger
If Only I was willing to listen
If Only I was born in a different family
If Only I was not obstinate
If Only I dared to speak
If Only I had the courage
If Only I had refused to let go
If Only I had not jumped to conclusion
If Only I had waited
If Only...

'If Only' = Regrets

Over time we grow, we change our belief systems, we alter our perceptions... and we look back and we said the two silly words of 'If Only'...

We are saying 'If Only', because we saw the consequences of that choice.
We are saying 'If Only', with our current 'grown-up' mindset, a more 'well-trained' mind, a more 'matured' spirit....
Yes, we would have made a different choice if the 'WE NOW' was in that 'Old Situation'.
But when we are willing to look back, with our belief systems Back THEN, with our perceptions back THEN, would we have made a different choice? The answer is almost 100% "NO!".

Back then, we were guided by a different mind, hence a different choice which gave birth to a different result.

At age 32, I am very blessed to be able to see how things actually do work out the way you wish to.
There are things that had made a HUGE U-Turn to where it all began.
There are things that had totally changed... for the better...
Seeing the big picture... some say they can't, hence they complain, 'cos they are too eager to see the end... limited patience....

I learned its not the big picture that truly gives us sight, gives us happiness, gives us growth...
Its the journey...
The people who were part of the journey...
The events which sent fireworks to the sky...
The once-difficult choices which had paid off or are still paying off....

My friend on MSN has a slogan which reads:
"Everything Happens For A Reason."

To Me,
"Everything Happens For A GOOD Reason."

With this in mind, I can stand up after every fall.
With this in mind, I can brave the storm.
With this in mind, I can take another step, even if its a baby step.....

Rhythm is A Dancer - Snap

Rhythm is a dancer, it's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices, free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air

Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, you can feel it in the air
Ooh, it's a passion, Ooh

Rhythm is a dancer, it's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices, free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air, Ooh

A far away light in the futuristic place we might be
It's a tiny world just big enough
To support the kingdom of one knowledgeable
I feel a wave of loneliness and head back down
I'm going too fast (I'm going too fast)

Rhythm is a dancer, it's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices, free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air, Ooh

I plunge right on through the office door
And into the arms of the bottomless negro of love
Suddenly I can't remember
How to stop, or turn around
Do I have to get behind myself
Do I have to turn around before I can point
I flip 'til I can breathe

Rhythm is a dancer, it's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices, free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air, Ooh

What Is P.S.?

Ever wonder what does P.S. mean?
Why is it written at the bottom of all the writings every time?

My curiosity bugged me today.
My laziness stopped my fingers from tappity-tap on the keyboard,
to find the answer on Wikipedia.
Instead,
my ever active mouth asked,
"Dearie do you know what does P.S. stands for?"

"Pet Society."

Recipe for Baked Cheese Potato

My humble hubby was really shy about sharing his self-invented recipe for the Baked Cheese Potato yesterday. Whenever he likes to eat something very much, he would try to think of the possible ingredients that would go into that dish and then he will start experimenting it in the kitchen; so that he can save money from eating at the restaurants. So far, no wastage. *wink* I think he inherited this from his mom. Of 'cos, his mom culinary talent is 100 times more superior. *giggle*

To him, his Baked Cheese Potato is a 'Just-Good-Enough' dish for our taste buds, that's why I didn't put the recipe down in my previous post. He thinks that its not up to the standard of what restaurants serve.

After yesterday's post, Blessed Mum asked for the recipe and a couple of emails asking the same question too, I sought permission from my man and finally he nodded shyly.

Boil the Potato for about 35-45min until its soft. (potato must be fully submerged in the water)
Use a fork to poke into the potato to test.
If the fork slides out of the potato effortlessly, then its ready.
Peel off the skin. (Careful, its really hot. I know, 'cos I helped in this part too)
Crush the potato with a fork.
Use a little olive oil to spread on the base and the sides of oven-able bowl.
Spread the crushed potato around the bowl.
Sprinkle some salt.
Put a few slices of butter on the potato.
Spread the Shredded Mozzarella Cheese all over the top.
(We do not have an oven, so we use our SnackMaker.)
We put the oven-able bowl into our SnackMaker for 5-6mins, high heat.
Take it out to see if you are satisfied with the 'look' of your Baked Cheese Potato.
Some like it more 'Brown Looking'.
If you fall into this group, then put the bowl in for another 4 more minutes.

Ta-Daa.... and its done!
*wink*

Yesterday we forgot to buy bacon, which we usually do.

Heat the bacon on the wok/pan till crispy (all fats on the bacon gone).
Then use a kitchen scissors to cut the strip of bacon into bits.
Sprinkle on top of the Baked Cheese Potato for the ultimate biting sensation.
*Grin*

Baked Cheese Potato

The 'Car' was repaired earlier than expected. Yippee!!!
(Please read yesterday's post for the full story)

With everyone in super good mood, Allan baked Cheese Potato for all of us. Yummy!!!

Many friends envy that I have such a hubby, someone who has never grumbled about his rarely-cook wife, yet takes over the kitchen himself willingly. *wink*

Yes yes yes.... I'm truly Blessed. *Smile*

Seeing Red

Allan had a car accident this afternoon.
Luckily the other driver admitted that it was his fault without any argument.
The driver paid for Allan's car damages as well as rental fee for a replacement car for 2 days.
No one was injured.

My greatest fear came true when Allan drove home a RED Toyota Corolla 1.6 litres.

RED is a definite no-no for Allan.
Be it car, be it shirt, be it whatever that is used by him.... RED is the forbidden colour.
This has been warned by 3 FengShui Masters and I had witnessed enough 'mishaps' to believe its true.

Allan's very first car was red and the number of fines we received and the number of accidents which happened during that short 2+ years of ownership was absolutely Outrageous!
There were so many flare ups whenever we were in the red car. Have you ever been screamed at in a car before??? No? Let me tell you, it feels as if your ear drum would explode any moment! That's how it feels! No, he did not quarrel with me, a phone call came and he could become so agitated, he would raise his voice when he complained about the caller to me.

Today it happened again.

Nothing extra-ordinary happened. Nothing terrible happened at all. But Allan started to lose his temper after the kids insisted on taking a drive in the 'new' car; which he had previously willingly agreed to.

When we first hopped in, everything was chirpy and fun, 'cos its a much bigger car as compared to ours.

We drove to one of our boys' favourite eating place for dinner. As usual, the kids' eating pace was slower than us. So we started to chat. The boys interrupted as usual with all sorts of requests. THIS IS NORMAL!!! But not Allan's reaction. He snapped!

Started to raise his voice in that small eatery.

Then he began to frown at (my) a topic which was meant to be joyous.

We left the place with eyes staring. Then for no good reason, he decided to cancel an appointment with his friend, whom we were supposed to meet after dinner.

When we were back to our multi-storey carpark, a driver drove against the traffic in order to beat Allan in 'taking' the prime parking lot. Allan was way over the top. He high beamed the driver. The driver was extremely pissed. Got out of the car and started to quarrel with Allan.

(I do not want to go into the details of the quarrel. That is not my purpose of this post.)

When we reached home Allan continued his outburst of unexplainable anger on Binbin. Allan did it so intensely (NO. HE DID NOT LAY HIS HANDS ON HIM. [just scolding]) that he suddenly realised he is no longer himself. He had become a slave to his anger, all over again.

"AAAHHHHhhhh... what's WRONG with me tonight!!!???!!!

Though such a sight had not been seen for more than 6 years now, I still remember how to handle it. > Shut Up and Stay Away from the Volcano. But the poor kids were so badly affected, they kept close to me for the rest of the night till Allan switched on the games on Facebook. *eyes rolled*

Before I was married to him, I have warned him: "The only thing that will make me leave you, is your uncontrollable anger."

In the past, before we know anything about FengShui, he was a very 'red' guy. After we knew about how red can add to his already-very-fiery Ba-Zi, all reds were gone.

Some call this superstition. I call this 'no harm avoiding'.

I wish time can past as fast as a wink of the eye. I can't wait for him to return back the RED car to the car rental company. *Deep Sigh*

The Power of Choice

From the day we were born,
The Power of Choice was granted.
From the day we took our first breath,
We have the ability to choose.
What choices have you made in the past,
which allowed you to reap bountiful crops.
What choices did you make yesterday,
which will burden you forever.
Choices, choices, choices
Every second you are making a change
by making a choice.
What's your choice now?
And how would it affect you short term, long term...
Make your choice.
Make it wisely.
'Cos some of the consequences are irreversible...

When Should You Eat Fruits

Received this email from my lovely neighbour, E., yesterday.
I learned about these facts a couple of weeks ago too and I believe its true.
So here I am sharing them with you....

"Dr Stephen Mak is a friend of mine at the BSF course. He told me he treats terminal ill cancer patients by "un-orthodox" way and many patients recovered. He explains to me before he is using solar energy to clear the illnesses of his patients. He believes on natural healing in the body against illnesses. See the article below.

---
Dear Shereen,
Thanks for the email on fruits and juices. It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing cancer is about 80%. Cancer patients shouldn't die. The cure for cancer is already found. It is whether you believe it or not? I am sorry for the hundreds of cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments.. Very few can live for 5 years under the convenctional treatments and most live for only about 2 to 3 years. The conventional treatments do not make any difference because most cancer patients also live for about 2 to 3 years without undergoing any treatment. It is difficult to cure those cancer patients who have undergone chemo and radiotherapy as their cells are toxic and weak. When there is a relapse, the cancer will spread very fast as the resistance is poor.
Thanks and God bless.
Dr Stephen Mak "

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?
IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!
FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so..

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up.. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI. Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE. An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY. Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE. Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON. Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA. Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

DRINKING COLD WATER AFTER A MEAL = CANCER ! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

Yes, its a pretty long read, but one thing I have to make it clear:
I learned in UPW, that it is best to drink water 30 mins before and 30mins after food and NEVER during meal time.

But this article said drinking cold water after meal = Cancer?!
This part...Hhhmmmm... I'm not too sure....

Mid-Autumn Festival

My sis gave us a mooncake treat again last week!
Thank you girl!

b

This time it was GoodWood Park Hotel's Double Egg-Yolk Mooncake. Probably every Singaporean knows that GoodWood Park Hotel is famous for its durian-whatever; be it durian puff or durian pastries or durian mooncake.

cd

But my taste buds still prefer the high cholesterol double egg-yolk goodness. *wink* I had We had no problem finishing them in less than a week! *laugh* Yummy!

***For the benefit of my non-Chinese readers, here's a little background to this festival:
This festival is also known as the Moon Cake Festival because a special kind of sweet cake (yueh ping) prepared in the shape of the moon and filled with sesame seeds, ground lotus seeds and duck eggs is served as a traditional Chung Chiu delicacy. Nobody actually knows when the custom of eating moon cake of celebrate the Moon Festival began, but one relief traces its origin to the 14th century.
At the time, China was in revolt against the Mongols. Chu Yuen-chang, and his senior deputy, Liu Po-wen, discussed battle plan and develops a secret moon cake strategy to take a certain walled city held by the Mongol enemy. Liu dressed up as a Taoist priest and entered the besieged city bearing moon cake. He distributed these to the city's populace. When the time for the year's Chung Chiu festival arrived, people opened their cakes and found hidden messages advising them to coordinate their uprising with the troops outside.
Thus, the emperor-to-be ingeniously took the city and his throne. Moon cake of course, became even more famous. Whether this sweet Chinese version of ancient Europe's "Trojan Horse" story is true, no one really knows.

Happy Mooncake eating and Lantern playing, Everyone!!!

Proposal Ring

A new month
A new beginning
A 'new' ring?

Nahh....

I told Allan NOT to buy a replacement for my lost Wedding ring.
(I realised I've not taken a photo of my wedding ring before. THIS photo was taken during my 3rd day of my first hospitalisation in July. The ONLY photo which has my Wedding Ring in it)

I just got a hunch that if he really bought a replacement, my Wedding Ring might just appear before my eyes. *faint*

I wouldn't want another replacement because the new one would be a reminder of the 'actual loss'.

The feeling is different.
The significance is different.
I don't want.

So now I'm wearing the ring which Allan proposed to me.

Yes, I have 2 different rings.
It was my request.
I wanted the 'proposal ring' to be different from the 'wedding ring'.

My proposal ring fits perfectly on my left middle finger. Not too lose. Not too tight.

Though my ring-finger is empty, my heart can still see it there....

A new month
A new beginning

and yes...

A 'new' ring....
