Happy 15th Anniversary Dearie!

Married for 15 years!
Its our Crystal Wedding Anniversary!

I would not consider 15 years a short time, neither would I say long.
Its not too short to know my man inside out, nor is it too long that I would get sick of him! *GINORMOUS LAUGH*

For those who had been following our love story all these years, 1 thing probably stood out among all else.... the fact that he REALLY DOTES on me!
*super grin*

During our 9th Wedding Anniversary, I did a blog post about my thoughts on our marriage :
 "Happy 9th Anniversary!"
Years passed and I still feel the same.

Love was how we started.
Communication was our method.
Understanding was the key to our marriage.
But it was Gratefulness that made us a couple that's above average.

Becoming 1,
is never by chance.
Staying as 1,
is truly a choice.

Friends often ask, "Do you two ever quarrel?"
Of cos we did!
But I would rather call it disagreement, because we were NOT shouting at the top of our lungs.
And does it last long....... RARELY!

To stay married, just stay together.
To stay HAPPILY married, both should never be stingy with these words:
1) Thank you
2) I'm Sorry
3) I Love You

Someone once asked: "Would you rather be right, or would you rather stay in a relationship?"

I rather stay HAPPILY in a relationship.

This year's Anniversary has a deeper meaning for both of us.
A race to be completed together,
A goal to achieve at the end.
When a couple moves in the same direction, now that is what I call perfection!

Thank you Dearie for your love and care all these years.
Its such a blessing to be your wife.
I would still wanna have the same status, if ever there is such a thing call 2nd life.

15 Years, but it felt like 15 days to me......

The most romantic story is not Romeo and Juliet,
but that you and I grow old together; and that's our pact!

Happy Anniversary Dearie!

Men Can't Figure Out What Women REALLY Want???

Understanding woman may be a really tough thing for most men.
Well, that is because we are wired differently up there (brains).
Just like the post, which I shared last year, "A Powerful 2hours to Fix Your Marriage." , women or men are really NOT difficult to understand.

The crucial point is did you take TIME to understand?

Hubby understands me very well.
Sometimes, TOO MUCH!
*laugh*
Even when I want to give him a surprise, he knows it before its revealed.
Maybe my acting skills REALLY NEED IMPROVEMENT!

He is a man and I'm a woman.
We understand each other.
Simply because we COMMUNICATE!
Not Talk!
Not Hear!
We Speak to be Understood
and Listen to Understand.

During the dating period and the first few years of marriage, there were misunderstandings.
Time was the issue.
We hardly have time together.
Mostly on the phone.

After we began our retail business, we had each other 24/7 almost!
That was when REAL communication began.

We learned each other's habits and TRIGGER POINTS.
We learned how far we can stretch each other's patience.
We learned what made each other happy, laugh, satisfied.

We learned....
Marriage does not end after the marriage vow was taken in the wedding suit/gown.
Marriage is a learning process that begins right after that.

Seriously,
if you tell me that you do not really understand your spouse (anymore),
check how many hours do you spend with him/her.
That is the biggest clue to your issue.

Some people probably find it WAY too hard to LEARN to understand women and hence the invention of :-------

 My first response was "Seriously?!"
We are humans!!!!
Not robots!!!
Why do we need technology or devices to help us understand our Loved Ones?!
We Need Time and HEART!!!!
Not some funny gadget!

A Powerful 2hours to Fix Your Marriage.

Are you having trouble with your Marriage?
Are you having problem understanding your spouse?
Has communication broken down between you and your spouse?

Or
Do you want to have a greater marriage?
It CAN be better!

I watched these 2 videos twice in different occasions.
One was when everything was going smoothly.
The other was after a brief argument.

Hubby and I hardly have big-long-lasting type of quarrels.
None of us like it.
Which Sane person does anyway!?!
*eyes rolled*

I, particularly HATE to break the harmony in the house because I do not want to walk the footsteps of my parents.
I made a BIG HUGE GINORMOUS PROMISE to myself that MY family : hubby, my two boys and I, will be happy together as a family for as long as all of us shall live, NO MATTER WHAT!

Last year and earlier part of this year, had been a very tough journey for some of my friends' marriages.
Some broken and went their separate ways.
Some survived the ordeal and patched back with scars.
And some are still struggling.....

Give yourself slightly more than 2 hours......finish these two videos.
You will see a whole new light in fixing your marriage and making it better.

2 hours is all you need to change the way you see your marriage....
Use the tips, they DO help....before its too late.....

****Actually, after viewing the video, I have come to understand my two sons better too.
So if you have kids that are of opposite gender from you, this will also help.
*Grin*

Always remember,
it takes two hands to clap
it takes two hearts to bond
and
it takes two souls to make a marriage work

Throughout ANY marriage, there WILL be times, we do our spouse wrong.
Misunderstood.
Misjudged.
whatever...........

But its important to know that your spouse was YOUR CHOICE!
No one forced you into this marriage (or I hope NOT!!!! *fingers and toes and hair all crossed*)

So when you were in the wrong, ask for forgiveness!

I know some of you (my dear readers) are NON-Christians.
But bear with the story and watch till the very end of this 8:54min video below.

There is a powerful healing message :~

*hugs* to all who are facing marriage issues.

Happy 13th Anniversary, Dearie!

I loved the animation in the previous post : "Song Sharing Sunday #223"
The animation reminded me that no matter what, dearie and I had vowed to hold each other's hand even when our backs are hunched and hair all white.

This post also felt like a continuation of this other post I did a couple of weeks back "Goodbye......Gift of Love"
because hubby bought me a new piece!
 “天長地久” continues.......

My heart sank when I saw the price tag.
Its definitely the most expensive watch I had ever had!
Thank you Dearie!
 *Super Huge Bear Hugs*

We had been to Modesto's several times and the branch we frequent most was Vivo.
Been to Elizabeth Hotel branch once but was taken aback at the length of time we had to wait before we were given a seat. So we told ourselves that its either we make a reservation or we will not go there again.

This day, the beginning of another year into our marriage, we wanted to try another branch : Modesto's @ Orchard ~ Orchard Parade Hotel.

Once again, great service and wonderful food.

Cotto

Linguine Vongole

Risotto Funghi

Crema Di Funghi and Bread with Olive oil

Looking at the last photo, its undeniably that we have aged....
Somehow that made me happy.
To know that we have stuck to each other through thick and thin all these years.
No matter how tough life was, we did not use our finger to put the blame but we used our hand to support.
Most importantly is....through it all, we remained IN LOVE with each other. (if you remembered what 'IN LOVE' meant to us, in my Anniversary post last year "Happy 12th Anniversary, Dearie! (and what Kept Us Going Strong)"

Many many more 13 years to come....
Happy 13th Anniversary Dearie!
*muack*

Song Sharing Sunday #223 - 情歌 ~ 梁靜茹

Today marked the 13th time we say "Happy Anniversary, Dearie ."

It started with a simple touch of my hand
Then you held it tight

The way you held mine in yours.... made you stand out from my previous ones...
Strong and Firm
Yet not hurting...

Security was what I felt
Security was YOU

15 years had passed since that very first hand-in-hand
That firmness has not lessen
It stood the test of time
It remained strong each time we held hands...... with our kids beside us

Married for 13 years
Seemed so long
Yet it still feels like it was yesterday when we said "I Do".....

May we continue to hold each other's hands
till our hair turn white
and
wrinkles are everywhere in sight.

Goodbye.....Gift of Love

15 years
Its been a long time
Never thought it will ever end

Your slogan read
“天長地久”
"Time is Love"
Yet you died on my wrist
Has love ended?

I wanted to get you fixed
But the giver rejected

Don't know why
but it felt like a bad omen
That your heartbeat stopped

My boy said: "Please lah! Such things will spoil one wat?!"
Somehow....it felt different...

My attachment to it is too strong
'Cos its not the physical piece
But the memory of how you put it on my wrist on Valentine's Day 1998

The day we made it official
That we are now a couple
With the breeze on our faces
Watching the reflection of the neon lights on the river skin....

Thank you for going through the sweetest and the bitterest moments of my life....
Its time to say goodbye....

MUST Eat Tonic Today!

I do not think it is based on the English Calendar.
My guess is its based on the Lunar Calendar.
A friend of 11 years called me up this morning and started rattling on,
"MUST Eat Tonic Today! To us, Fu-Jian people, today补日is the day whereby you eat tonic for one day, you improve/nourishyour health for the whole year!"

She took a breath and continued,
"Your health have not been good. You MUST eat tonic today to build it up. If you are lazy to brew some tonic, go to those hawker centre or foodcourt that sells tonic soup, buy one big bowl to drink. If you want to improve your skin complexion and look prettier, then drink bird nest."

Took another breath and went on,
"Aiya, I tell you what, drink tonic for lunch and drink bird nest before you sleep tonight, ok? Don't forget about your hubby and the kids too."

Our age gap is about 10 years and over these 11 years of knowing her, she has became a very close friend of mine, infact a great friend to my whole family, 'cos she is also our hairstylist. From working as a hairstylist beside our bubble tea shop 11years ago to now a boss of her own at home, she is the one who saw how we rose and fall badly and now rise again; and that includes our health too.

Though scientifically, this is definitely an absurd presumption, ('cos how can the tonic you eat today stay Good in your body for the next 365 days? If its leap year, then it would be 366 days!?) it still warmed my heart that she made this call.

What a great way to start my day today, knowing that I have a friend who truly cares about my health and my family's too.

Happy 12th Anniversary, Dearie! (and what Kept Us Going Strong)

Every year, I will take time to do a blog post on this special day.
This year, my heart is filled with gratefulness.
I recalled what it was like 14 years ago...
  • I loved his smile
  • I loved his mannerism
  • I loved his calmness
  • I loved his intelligence
  • I loved his wittiness
  • I loved the sense of security and reliability he radiates so naturally.
Then I remembered the day he proposed 12 years ago...
  • unromantic
  • shy
  • and that cute pinkish blush on his face

And now, looking at the same man, whom I have been sharing the same bed with for the past 12 years...
  • His smile remained
  • His mannerism improved
  • His calmness had been tested with 'fire' and now it glows
  • His intelligence is still something that continues to impress me
  • His wittiness has not diminished a single bit
  • The sense of security and reliability he gives is reaching perfection
  • From an unromantic man, he now knows how to create little romance in everyday life
  • Well, his shyness are almost gone but I could still manage to turn his face pinkish with a little teasing now and then.
I am thankful that the good Lord sent him to me at the worst possible moment of my life to lift me up.

I am also thankful for the first 8-9 years of difficult times, which we went through together slogging 12hours or more a day, 7 days a week, to feed ourselves and the children.
Without that hardship, our marriage foundation would NOT be this strong.

I am truly grateful for maintaining the openness in our communication.
Maybe its because our horoscope matches.
Maybe its because our ba-zi matches.
Or
Maybe simply because we continued to respect and love each other.
To speak with an open heart and mind.
And to continue to achieve our common goal.

I realised many married couples do not have a common goal.
They get married.
Have a (few) bundle(s) of joy.
They worked hard to make sure the family survives.
And that's about it.

I realised that couples with a common goal, respect each other more, understand each other deeper and communicates better too.

To me, a 'healthy' marriage life is simply being IN LOVE:
Intimacy
Never Blaming

Listen
Offspring
Variety
Eternity

Intimacy is more important than you think
There are a lot of difference between Sex and Making Love.
Go think!
*wink*

Never Blaming each other
When things go wrong, especially when its terribly wrong.
Point the finger AT YOURSELF
and things will work out
wonders will happen.

Listen to what your spouse has to say
Listening to not just what was said
but to why those words were said

Offspring to complete a family
To me, offsprings, aka children, are reminders
Reminding you and your spouse how in love you feel towards each other
So In Love that you are willing to JUMP into this commitment

Variety is spice to any marriage
Staying the same end up being a routine
Do things differently keeps that spark alive
Find NEW things which the two of you can do together
Find NEW goals which two of you must work as a team to achieve

Eternity in Mind will go a long way
To my surprise, many couples does not have Eternity in their mind when they get married.
I have so many friends and relatives who tell me that marriage is unpredictable and no point staying together as a couple when they do not see eye to eye anymore.
To me, that is a super lousy mindset!
I believe in Law Of Attraction.
If you already have the thought that one day there is a chance that you two will be separated, then, guess what?
That day will come!

Has it become a habit that you two are together?
Or are you still IN LOVE with your spouse?

Are you having a 'healthy' marriage?
Or are you passing each day with the same routine?

I am thankful that Allan and I are and will continue to be, for the rest of our lives.

Happy Anniversary Dearie! *muack*

My MIL LOVES ME!!!

My MIL wanted to check out our temporary accommodation today. However, the kiddos over at her side were not cooperative (according to her), the two elder ones refused to study for their exams papers tomorrow.

Only when she called in the late morning to tell us that the visit was cancelled, did we realise that she had boiled Yeung-Sum (Cantonese language for the drink) water last night, all ready to bring to us today. Due to those two bottles of Yeung-Sum water, she insisted that her son must make a trip down to her place to collect it, since she is not coming over already.

Me: "Your Mum REALLY loves her grandsons."

Hubby: "No. Its You! She Really loves you. I told her that you had very bad sore throat on Sunday and immediately she boiled Yeung-Sum water. The boys had been sick for so long already, she did nothing. So its YOU whom she loves."

Me *sacarstically*: "Yes, yes, yes..."

In the late afternoon, hubby went over to her place while I stayed at home with my sick children who were sound asleep then.

...............

Just minutes before hubby came home, my MIL called, "Is he back yet?"

Me: "Not yet."

MIL: "How are you now? Did you gurgle with salt water? The Yeung-Sum water must drink ah! Will make make you feel better. Kids cannot drink. They are coughing."

ONLY THEN, IT DAWNED ONTO ME THAT WHAT HUBBY SAID WAS TRUE!
The Yeung-Sum water was for ME!
AAaaaawwww.....
*heart melted*
and speechless for a few seconds.

Me: "Orh. Orh. I'll drink. I'll drink."

And with a comforted "ok", she hung up.

My yearn for a Mother's Love all these years!!!!!
Came late.
But I am still so happy, so grateful, so blessed....

With my hubby storming through the rain....

brought home my MIL's love to me...

And MIL's dishes too for our dinner.

Thank you MIL!
Thank you!

This is the second time, she did something that makes me feel so loved. The feeling of being loved by a mother. *super hugs*

The first time was back in year 2009, when she walked down almost 20 flights of staircase for my health. Read post here "I Was Exorcised".

Once again, it made me feel terrible to have made her cry (ONCE). I am the ONLY DIL who made her cry because I shouted at her for pressuring me to stop working back in 2006. *slapping my own face*
I'm sorry....

Valentine's Day 2012

After being parents for so many years, this is the first time we could have a 'Proper' Valentine's Day meal.
I love the feeling of having our offsprings celebrating this day with us ...however, to have a decent heart-to-heart talk, its better to do away the 'loud speakers'. *laugh*

One was in school and the other was in zoo with teachers.
So my hubby and I could have a full 3 hours of lovy-dovy-time together this afternoon.

Which beautiful place did we go to?

TCC at Marina Keppel Bay

Caesar Salad

French Onion Soup

Seafood Aglio Olio

Beef Stew

Dark Devotion
See the 'Dark Lava' Oozing Out? Aaaww... Yum!

Passion Mango

Tea
Us, who else? *laugh*

Since we are already here, how can we not walk around to enjoy the wonderful scenery and sea breeze.....

Yup! We were eating inside here. 2nd level. Isn't it romantic? Having meal at such a beautiful place....

The water was so clear! I could see the fishes and plants beneath.

Then we crossed the road and went to the other side of Keppel Bay

With this day, I am even more firm on my belief that when you become a parent, you should devote your time and energy on your children when they are young and not keep complaining thinking about not having enough couple-time.

Because before you realised it, time flew and they are all grown up.
Then the two of you can have all the couple-time you desire.

On top of that, you will TREASURE SUCH MOMENTS together with the one whom you took the marriage vow with even MORE......

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!

Do You Wear Your Wedding Rings Daily?

I was shocked to find out today that it was a common practice for married couples NOT to wear their wedding bands or wedding rings daily.

Right after this new discovery, I went home and asked a few more couples and lo and behold its true!!! *Jaws Dropped*

Is this a trend? Am I outdated?
If I am man at a pub and I saw this woman without any ring on the left hand's fourth finger, I would naturally think that she is single and 'encourage' people to approach. Is that what you want to portray when you have already vowed to be married to your hubby?

Whereas for men without a wedding ring on that finger...... is that the reason why more divorce cases are happening nowadays due to third party involvement?

We wear wedding rings on the fourth finger of our left hand because one of the veins lead straight to the heart. Therefore, to me, wearing wedding ring is very important, because the marriage vow you gave to your spouse is one that should always be in your heart. Therefore, something so precious, why take it off after the vow has been made?

Why wouldn't a married couple wear their wedding rings after marriage?

Several reasons were mentioned:
  1. Either party is working in an environment whereby chemicals are involved, hence it would tarnish the ring. And since the spouse is not wearing, the other choose not to wear.
  2. Men does not like to wear ring, so the wife choose not to wear too.
  3. The ring size no longer fits well after pregnancy, so when the wife does not wear it, the husband do so too.
  4. One of the ring was lost. Did not get a replacement, so the other party might as well not wear it.
  5. The solitaire was too big and it kept knocking or scratching on things. So when the wife does not wear, the husband follow suit.
Other than the first reason above, I find all other reasons totally unacceptable.
My views below may offend some of the couples who practice not wearing the wedding rings daily, I apologise first if its piercing to your ears....

However for the first reason, I see no excuse good enough to justify why the ring cannot be worn after work? You can put it in your wallet and wear it after you leave your company or factory or laboratory. If 'troublesome' is your excuse reason, then buying and choosing the rings in the first place is even more troublesome, isn't?

In the first place, why were wedding rings a must when a couple goes through solemnization? Why not necklace? Or bracelet? Or any other things?!
This alone already shows the significance of the rings in a marriage.
They are a symbol of unison.

Next, why is it a must to help each other to put on the wedding ring during soleminzation?
Its to show to all witnesses and to each other that you two vowed to be reminded of this day. And as long as the ring, your spouse put onto your finger, remains on your finger after that day, you two stay true to the vow you have made.

Then, for those who simply choose not to wear because the other party is not wearing is just absurd to me. Its something so close to the heart, by choosing not to wear because the spouse is not wearing only goes to show how much importance that moment when your spouse put the ring onto your finger means to you. If you can take it out so lightly, to me, it also means that the marriage is not something you treasure.

At this point, many would argue that its the heart that matters. They said that they remember each other in their heart. That is more important than a piece of jewellery.
I find this argument off topic. I am talking about the significance of the wedding ring. If something is so important to you, would you hold it close to your heart, keep it close to you or would you leave it out of sight?!

The more I type, the angrier I get!
Because 2 couples among the ones I have asked are already divorced. And these couples took off their wedding rings just few days after their marriage. *faint*

I cried my heart out when I lost my wedding ring, see post "My Wedding Ring"
and
Tears of joy streamed down when I found it eventually again, read here "I Found My Wedding Ring"

To me, wedding rings are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! The significance of the wedding rings are beyond words can describe because it involves the heart and soul of two human beings. How can a married couple not wear wedding rings after marriage?!

I'm sorry, I find no reason a good enough reason to remove the wedding rings after marriage and not wear it back on a daily basis.

Period!

What's Stressing Your Relationship?

Can I start again with my faith shaken?
'Cause I can't go back and undo this
I just have to stay and face my mistakes
But if I get stronger and wiser
I'll get through this

So I throw up my fist
Throw a punch in the air
And accept the truth that sometimes life isn't fair
Yeah, I'll send down a wish
Yeah, I'll send up a prayer
And finally, someone will see
How much I care!

You Can't Punish Your Partner Without Punishing Yourself ~ Anthony Robbins

Rewrite the Story of Your Relationship.
What is the story you have about your ideal relationship?
The reason why you don't have that story that you really want, is the story you keep telling yourself why you can't have it.

When you are ready to change that sinking relationship, you don't need to wait for Valentine's Day.
Every day IS Valentine's Day.

Is Your Relationship in Danger?

Let me count... 1... 2... 3...4...
yes that is how many of my friends/relatives are getting into the danger zone in their relationship with their spouse.
Have 'counselled' them, have spent time with them, but truly, in a realtionship, if one really wants to make an effort to get out of that rejection situation and back into the passionate intimacy life that first started off, it all boils down to whether are you willing to try everything, including doing nothing at all?

How often we try to do what we think is best to salvage the relationship, little did we realise that the problem actually lies exactly in that!

In a point of frustration and rejection, no idea is a good idea.
Take a step back.
Take time to hush.
Start to listen.
Bring yourself out of the situation and see it from outside the box.
Does the problem really lies with your spouse?
Or is it YOU?....

It is never easy to control others thoughts, actions and words.
But you and Only You can control Your thoughts, actions and words....

I always believe that it takes two to clap.
It takes two to fight.
It takes two to have a reaction.
If you are able to take control of one ~ which is YOU.
Don't you see that 50% of the battle is won?

So what if you think you are right in every argument?
My question is, was the argument necessary?
Was the argument edifying?
Did the argument improve your relationship?

Very often, every argument is a struggle for power.
I AM RIGHT = I have POWER.
I have a higher authority than you.

Is relationship a struggle of power?
Does making your spouse feel 'small' magnifies your ego?
So what if your ego is raised?
You have hurt the one whom you vowed to spend the rest of your life with.
Is it worth it?

You want ego?
Get yourself a job!
Climb up that hierachy ladder.
Be at the top! And there your ego is!
Not crush your wife or husband with your heavy ego.
That is power in the wrong place!

God made Eve from the side bone of Adam.
It represents equality.
It represents companionship.
It means being side by side with each other through thick and thin.
Not towering over one another.

Close your eyes and let your mind brings you back to the day the proposal was done,
the wedding was held and
the day fireworks lit the sky when your eyes met.
Find that passion again.
Find that reason again.
That reason is powerful enough to break the 'wall' that separates you two now...

*Hugs*

Happy 11th Anniversary, Dearie!

As Apple celebrates its 10th Anniversary today, Allan and I celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. *Smile*

Ever since I started blogging, I would always blog about how blessed I am to be Allan's wife. About how little we quarrel and about how often we spend our time in laughter.

Looking through the photos, I remembered how we were sabotaged.

  1. Allan had to scoop up 3 'something which I can't remember', one at a time, from that bowl of tea. Transfered to me through mouth and I had to spit it out on another empty bowl.
  2. Next, the 'sabotaging team' told me to roll a raw egg, from the left side of Allan's pants, to the right side of the pants. By the way, the egg is IN the pants! The cloth was so slippery, I was so close to loosing grip of it so many times. *nervous* Well, 'the naughty team' were cheering as the egg reached the 'peak' of the pants... *eyes rolled* (This had my MIL fuming!!! I remembered hearing her scolding the leader of the team)
  3. Then we had to drink this big glass of hard liquor. A teeny weeny bit of liquor or even wine will cause Allan to feel really uncomfortable to the extend of breathing discomfort. Since everyone was in such a high spirit, he did not want to be the spoilsport and so he had one mouthful of that and I SLURPED the rest of the liquor in the cup empty. *wink* I remembered drinking lots of liquor that wedding night as more friends sabotaged me (alone), after witnessing the my liquor 'endurance'. *giggle* Well, I have to thank my grandpa for this though. *wink*

Looking at the photos at such wee hours (2.30am) brought smiles as well as tears to my eyes.

I remembered the guests who came.
Some couples got married.
Others have kids to play with now.
Yet,
there are so many who have separated,
who have divorced,
who have gone through counselling for depression due to failed relationships.

Is relationship that difficult to maintain?
I can sense many nods.
But I choose to differ.

We were approached by the owner of the noodle stall which we patronise often, approached us just two days ago. She asked, "Does the two of you EVER quarrel?! You two are always chatting and laughing with each other."

I admit that I still feel very much in love with Allan. Seriously, it does not feel like 13 years at all! We are still learning new things about each other. New talents. New aspirations. Its like falling in love again every time.

Like all couples, we do have our differences too, but we used these differences to complement each other and not to condemn each other.

My heart is in a swirl now as I looked at these photos.
This year, I want to take this opportunity to remind all couples that relationship does not stop after marriage, or after your child(ren) is(are) born.

The strength of your relationship depends on how much the two of you Grow Together as a couple. In terms of Personality, Thoughts, Mannerism and Aspiration.

Dearie, cheers to our 13 years of love and many more years to come.

Happy 11th Anniversary, Dearie! *muack*

Every Bad Thing Happens For a Good Reason

Many says, "Things Happen For A Reason".
I prefer to say, "Every Bad Thing Happens For a Good Reason".

Maybe because I am positive.
Maybe because I learned to be grateful.
Maybe because I remember to count my blessings everyday.
or simply because I had been through so many 'bad things' for the past 3 decades, and seeing (& Living) the 'good fruits' that all those (once) seemingly 'bad things bear, I believe that "Every Bad Thing Happens For a Good Reason".
The difference is, are you PATIENT enough to wait for the harvesting season to partake the good fruits.

I believe everyone on earth is here for a purpose.
Be it big or small.
We are here to make an impact on someone or something.

In my belief system, what seemed bad at that instant actually leads to something good eventually.
So don't jump to conclusion too soon, or else when the 'Good' comes knocking at the door, you wouldn't recognise it and hence would not open your door to welcome it. *wink*

Today, someone sent me this story below.
Be it true or not, it reminded me again of my belief: "Every Bad Thing Happens For a Good Reason."
*smile*

A man from Norfolk , VA called a local radio station to share this on Sept 11th, 2003, TWO YEARS AFTER THE TRAGEDIES OF 9/11/2001.

His name was Robert Matthews. These are his words:

A few weeks before Sept. 11th, my wife and I found out we were going to have our first child. She planned a trip out to California to visit her sister. On our way to the airport, we prayed that God would grant my wife a safe trip and be with her. Shortly after I said 'amen,' we both
heard a loud pop and the car shook violently.. We had blown out a tire. I replaced the tire as quickly as I could, but we still missed her flight. Both very upset we drove home.

I received a call from my father who was retired NYFD. He asked what my wife's flight number was, but I explained that we missed the flight.

My father informed me that her flight was the one that crashed into the southern tower. I was too shocked to speak. My father also had more news for me; he was going to help. 'This is not something I can't just sit by for; I have to do something.'

I was concerned for his safety, of course, but more because he had never given his life to Christ. After a brief debate, I knew his mind was made up. Before he got off of the phone, he said, 'take good care of my grandchild. Those were the last words I ever heard my father say; he died while helping in the rescue effort.

My joy that my prayer of safety for my wife had been answered quickly became anger. I was angry at God, at my father, and at myself. I had gone for nearly two years blaming God for taking my father away. My s on would never know his grandfather, my father had never accepted Christ, and I never got to say good-bye.

Then something happened. About two months ago, I was sitting at home with my wife and my son, when there was a knock on the door. I looked at my wife, but I could tell she wasn't expecting anyone. I opened the door to a couple with a small child.

The man looked at me and asked if my father's name was Jake Matthews. I told him it was. He quickly grabbed my hand and said, 'I never got the chance to meet your father, but it is an honor to meet his son.'

He expl ained to me that his wife had worked in the World Trade Center and had been caught inside after the attack. She was pregnant and had been caught under debris. He then explained that my father had been the one to find his wife and free her. My eyes welled up with tears as I thought of my father giving his life for people like this. He then said, 'there is something else you need to know.'

His wife then told me that as my father worked to free her, she talked to him and led him to Christ. I began sobbing at the news.

Now I know that when I get to Heaven, my father will be s tanding beside Jesus to welcome me, and that this family would be able to thank him themselves .

When their baby boy was born, they named him Jacob Matthew, in honor of the man who gave his life so that a mother and baby could live.

This story should help us to realize this: God is always in control.

We may not see the reason behind things, and we may never know this side of heaven, but God is ALWAYS in control.

Please take time to share this amazing story. You may never know the impact it may have on someone. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures Forever. Psalm 136:

May God bless you, and your family,

The difference between 'COMPLETE' and 'FINISH'

A friend of mine sent me this and though I giggled throughout the whole thing, there are a lot of hard truth in it.
ENJOY!

The difference between 'COMPLETE' & 'FINISH'.
People say there is no difference between
 'COMPLETE' & 'FINISH'.

But there is
!

When you marry the right one, you are COMPLETE.
And when you marry the wrong one, you are FINISHED.
And when the "right one" catches you with the "wrong one", you are
"COMPLETELY FINISHED"!!

And that is your English lesson for the day.
